As an undergraduate student at Kansas State University, EZ served as program director and a radio personality of the on-campus radio station KSDB, where he was instrumental in developing the station's distinctive Urban Contemporary format. Not long after graduation, EZ DJ'd th eevening slot for 100.3 JAMZ in Dallas, where he broke the arbitron record for evening listeners.
He continued to boast record-breaking achievements at stations across the country before returning to his original afternoon drive home at 93.9 Kiss fm.
EZ's community service work has included: co-founding "Circle of Friends," a mentor program for young African American males; founding the Sankofa Essay contest, which was designed to teach youth the importance of learning more about their past; and producing the 1st Annual Mother Daughter Double Dutch event, which teaches young African American girls the importance of self-esteem and other issues.
